Stuck for ideas when it comes to creating real estate content for social media? Here are my top 5 go-to websites that never let me down when it comes to finding interesting and relevant real estate related articles and blogs. Just click and share to your page in an instant. And you’ll get bonus points (in the form of more engagement) if you add a note from yourself with the link to the shared post to make it sound more personal.

1. realestate.com.au  https://www.realestate.com.au/lifestyle/

It costs your first-born child these days to advertise with them, but did you know that realestate.com.au have a brilliant lifestyle blog? Here you’ll find tonnes of great articles sorted into the following sections. Mix them up from week to week.

Tip: Add a video or pic that’s relevant, with a personal note from you. For example, if sharing the “4 pet-friendly style hacks” blog, add a pic of a cute dog from your open home.

2. Hooked on Houses  https://hookedonhouses.net/

This is an American based website run by a lady named Julia. She writes blogs about celebrity homes and houses that feature on TV shows or movie sets. Share the blogs that may be of interest to your target market. (i.e. if your clients are mostly elderly people, they probably won’t have much interest in Miley Cyrus’s new home). Keep it relevant to your audience.

Tip: Post about a movie, tv show or celebrity that’s trending if you want maximum engagement.

3. Your Neighbourhood http://www.yourneighbourhood.com.au/

This is a community-based website where you can select your suburb and search for developments happening in the area. These posts always get a high level of engagement as people tend to be vocal about their views on the proposed development. Be mindful to stay neutral when it comes to your stance on the development.

Tip: Stay up-to-date by subscribing to their email list for alerts.

4. The Lighter Side of Real Estate https://lightersideofrealestate.com/

For a bit of fun, this is another American based website that offers loads of hilarious real estate-y type posts, gifs, videos – all in a light-hearted way. Be sure to follow their Facebook page so you can share a funny gif in an instant.

Tip: Avoid sharing anything that might be political or sensitive in the current climate.

5. Your local council website

Similar to the “Your Neighbourhood” website, your local council website is a great place to find upcoming events in the community and changes to policies and procedures. (Did you know Brisbane City Council now requires you to register your chickens!). It’s a great service to provide these updates to the community. It’s also good for your own knowledge to be informed about any changes – especially those relating to housing.

Tip: Around school holiday time, look out for a list of free activities on offer for kids in the community.
